About

I love visiting historical places. Walking down a street that’s two thousand years old, imagining the lives that once unfolded there, feeling history beneath your feet.

What I like a little less is being told for 37 minutes why one stone is sitting next to another stone. Or having someone list the architect’s entire family tree, all the way down to his cousin by marriage.

So I decided to try something different.

I created audioguid.me because I wanted an audio guide I would actually want to use myself. Not a lecture, not an encyclopedia being read aloud. Just a good story, in the right place, at the right time.

With audioguid.me, you’re in charge of the tour. You can stop. Go back. Skip ahead. Or simply take out your headphones and look at the ruins in silence for as long as you like.

You explore at your own pace, following a route chosen according to the time you have and what you feel like seeing that day. No need to follow a group of 25 people all carrying the same little flag: the map guides you, the story accompanies you, and the rest of the time, the place speaks for itself.

Everything works offline, with no account, no subscription, and no ads. One purchase, and all your tours are yours.

We’re starting with Pompeii. More extraordinary places will follow.

Welcome to the audio guide I wish I had found.

A French developer based in Paris, I’m passionate about art and museums. It’s 2026 — museums should really move on from those plastic audioguides. I’m convinced that digital technology could make culture much more accessible, both for visitors and for museums.
